Take 265 and convert to inches by dividing by 25.4 (265/25.4 = 10.4" wide) Now using the aspect ratio (.75) determine the size of the sidewall by multiplying the 10.4 by .75 to get 7.8". That is the distance between the edge of the rim and the outer edge of the tire. Double this because you have two - 15.6".

Check fluids, make sure they are not contaminated. The 3.1 is a good engine and comes with a strong 5-speed Mercedes transmission. The reason that Jeep switched to the 2.7 is because it has cleaner emission's. IIRC, the NV247 (quatra-trac II) transfer case was the only one available in the export WJ's.
